at the door of it: there I saw a big placard written in English and Ukrainian. The title of it was "The Ten Commandments of Good Business". I have heard about the Ten Commandments, but they are connected with the Bible. So I became interested in it and read it from the very beginning. Here it is. 1. A customer is the most important person in any business. 2. A customer is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. 3. A customer is not an interruption of our work. He is the purpose of it. 4. A customer does us a favour when he calls. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. 5. A customer is a part of our business, not an outsider. 6. A customer is not a cold statistician, but a human being with feelings like our own. 7. A customer is a person who brings us his wants. Our job is to fill those wants. 8. A customer deserves the most courteous and attentive treat-merit. 9. A customer is the fellow who makes it possible to pay our salary. 10. A customer is the lifeblood of every business. 35. Read and retell the jokes. FOR THE SAKE OF1 BUSINESS Customer: What are you crying for, my little fellow? Shopkeeper's son: My father is selling some ..new soap, and every time a customer comes in I have to wash my head to show how good the soap is. 1 for the sake of — заради *** FATHER'S MOTTO1 The teacher was giving her class a lecture on mottoes and wished the class to memorise the motto, "It is better to give than to receive2." A small boy cried out, "Yes, Miss, my father says he has always used that as his motto in business." "What is his business?" the teacher asked. "He is a boxer, Miss," the boy answered.
